Rajasthan royals beat KingsXI in royal style. A superb 135 runs partnership between Graeme Smith and stumper Naman Ojha helped the royals to achieve the score of 211, which is the highest score by any team in IPL2009. Rajasthan restricted KingsXI t0 133/8,and won by 78 runs. Yuvraj scored 48 ,Irfan 19, all Punjab batsmen put up pathetic show surrendering to RR bowlers. It was Yuvraj fighting in the middle not for victory but for reducing the margin.
Punjab lost their first five in ust 50 runs,there after there were no hopes for winning.
