Indian premier league(IPL) is now turned into Indian political league. The tournament which began with lots of excitement has turned into lots of controversy before the end of IPL3.
The controversy of IPL began when the chairman of IPL lalit Modi twittered about Former MP of Congress Shashi Tharoor over the ownership of Kochi team.
Lalit Modi had no business raising Kochi franchise ownership details on twitter. If he had his reservations or concerns, he should have raised it in the IPL governing council meeting. But he showed scant regard for norms and tweeted.
In the past, there has been a lot of speculation on the ownership of a few existing IPL teams. Never has Modi clarified or cleared the air caused by the speculation. Only now, when he had a personal axe to grind, he decided to let it out. I guess he felt he would get away. Don't the rich and powerful get away in this country?
The controversy was watched more curiously than any IPL match.Well after the allegations Mr shashi Tharoor resigned from his post. While Lalit Modi decided to resign after the finals of IPL3.
The IPL office had been raided , many minister's were linked with the IPL , match fixing matter was raised, even the bomb blast at chinnaswamy stadium banglore was been said as Political overtones behind shifting IPL semis.
Well after all these things what a common man asking is "Can we have our game back please" can there be only cricket match in IPL and nothing else...
This is the result when sports and politics come together.
